What Participants Had to Say

It felt radical to be able to challenge my privilege and biases and create changes while also feeling valued as a human.  I have been able to pass this on to others.  I’m more gentle with myself and others and my relationships are improving, as well as my relationship to activism.

I have noticed a small but perceptible shift in my ability to show up from a grounded and centered place. There are still a lot of sticky situations to navigate and those have not been easy, but I am grateful for the potential to meet challenges while learning to stay centered.

After our session, my body felt nourished and ready to connect. Instead of suspicious of others, I was curious.  Instead of wanting to dismiss people I disagree with, I had more compassion for them, and for myself.

Accountability is not punitive. I need to be accountable for my love as much as for my mistakes. Magic and medicine are brought by the people who show up, thus emphasizing (once again) the importance of simply showing up.

I am unbelievably grateful to have a skilled professional meet me “where I am” and create the space for growth with support and challenge. It is so incredible to feel seen

I hoped to get some clarity as a white woman about how to have humility and confidence; my coach supported me with this.

I appreciate that this work is challenging and can also be invigorating and affirming.

The questions asked were very insightful and thought provoking and I found myself thinking about them later.

The last gathering changed my life, literally. I was depressed and worn down. I experienced love and acceptance at such an intense level that I felt renewed, and that has stuck with me. I am a changed person. I sat up alone, in the dark, for over an hour, mulling over what had occurred and trying to hold on to the magic.

The practice group helped me to tap back into the work myself. More than anything it was a small step toward recommitting myself to the caucusing and racial justice work in general. So it did help with my accountability! I started back to Keep It Moving caucus last month and am part of a smaller group/discussion that is just starting to meet regularly.

These offerings have taught me to slow down, to be more present, to channel energy into nurturing and presence. I feel significantly more OK with who I am and my place in the world. I believe I am kinder and operating more from the heart than just from fighting. I now feel like support/kindness/generosity/openness and accountability/judgement are less polar opposites.

The practice groups were amazing–just the practice of how we can be with each other and how we can engage with our shadow selves and the difficult conversations gives me a taste of what relating to each other can look like.  Very much enjoyed meeting the participants.  Very much enjoyed the videos and alerts to other learning opportunities.
