FEATURED PROGRAM

Self-Regulation for Early Learners is a two generation curriculum designed with activities and insights that are helpful for both children and the supportive adults in their lives (parents, teachers, counselors, etc.). This is one program in a larger body of work called The Power of Ease.
Children and adults experience stress. This stress lives in our bodies. When someone feels more ease in their body and in their breathing, the brain is better able to relax, learn and develop in healthy ways. In this curriculum, animal friends share tricks about how to access the Smart Body’s superpowers. These simple movement, sound, and breathing activities lead to stress relief, improved self-esteem, self-regulation skills, and positive mental and physical child development.

Adult Training
Teachers, parents, administrators, afterchool staff, and other supportive adults are guided through a 4 part curriculum (6 hours total) that teaches trauma informed strategies and practices. Learn simple movement and breathing exercises that can bring calm to the nervous system, activate learning, and develop healthy mental and physical habits. These exercises are for adults and children. In this training, adults experience all 17 lessons and how to teach them to children using a crew of “animal friends”. Training offered in-person and virtually.

Classroom Lessons
An experienced teacher and childcare professional guides students in 20-30 minute movement and breathing practices to support positive mental and physical development, stress relief, and readiness for learning. Children practice these exercises, finding their favorites, and the teacher also learns how to integrate them into the rhythm of classroom schedules. Ongoing coaching for educators and additional groups for families are available.
